It's Like We Have ESPN or Something

So this is what happens when you know someone really, really well. I present a text conversation between me and my roommate/bff the other day:

9:17 | B: Tm can you take a cute insta of me?
9:17 | Me: How's it going poobie noobie

9:18 | Me: We literally just texted each other at the same time. Esp
9:18 | B: WHOA. We magically texted each oths @ the same time. ESP
9:18 | B: We are creepy.
9:18 | Me: Haha did we say that at the same time too

I don't even want to know how creepy I would be if I had a real twin. Poobie noobie is an affectionate term derived from a fat cat named Chloe's nickname (we tend to make up words around these parts) and for the record I'm the one with less of an abbreviation problem.

I'm going through a hardcore Mean Girls phase right now, since I watched/ listened to it a few times while I was studying this summer the quotes are flying. Whats your favorite one??

The One That I Miss

I can't even tell you how much I miss this girl, I am so incredibly blessed to have her in my life. I know that I'll still be able to call her up and feel 17 again (or virtually communicate with through our google googles lol) when we are old and grey and I'm even more grandma-ish.

These snapshots are from my trip to see her in Louisiana last month. I can't believe how much fun we have doing the littlest silly things, hence the on the floor cookie dough ice cream parlor in her new unfurnished apartment. The soundtrack to this post is this song. Just because. Pictured are a huge live oak, new orleans urban landscape, blue bell cookie dough ice cream, korks, kanvas and kardashians with a cute puppy, and driving on country roads that remind you of horror movies.

Nothing says weekend quite like denim! My Saturday was spent hitting up the library, eating timbits (I can stop at any time, so not addicted), playing around with HTML, drinking tea, kickin' it in front of the engineering building, and enjoying the beautiful overcast weather.

My mom and I bought our black minnetonkas together around 5 years ago, a one half size difference, and whenever I'm home there is always the: "are these mine or yours?" "did you take my mocs?" "are you wearing my shoes?". Gotta love mother daughter matching :)

Cupcakes for Sale

We made some bake sale goodies with trusty old Contessa (yes, our retro oven has a name) the other day and it was the perfect way to unwind during a crazy busy week. We have a BOATLOAD of seafoam colored cream cheese frosting left over, any suggestions? Other than the very obvious impulse to eat copious amounts of it all by itself until none remains ;)

I found my new favorite backdrop for photos the other day, isn't the color and texture of that orange wall divine!?! I'm incredibly sad that summer is winding down and I'll be counting down the days until I get to hang out in a tank top again. Today I'm breaking out a down vest and trouser socks, yikes!

Walking around the city in the summer always leads me to the coolest convertibles and I want to take a ride in this one sooooo badly!  Graffiti is always plentiful too, its basically like an instagrammers paradise up in here, if you can pull your head out of the books that is :p

How are you grieving the loss of summer the greatest season ever? On the plus side you get to drink more tea, crochet like a boss, and you get to wear more items of clothing per outfit ;)

1. I would like to know who is responsible for these advertisements so we can be friends. (Only partially sarcastic here, just warming up :p )
2. Pet peeve as of late: when you are ready for bed but you know there is literally one mosquito in your room that is going to be attracted to your CO2 output and bite your face while you're sleeping. Neurotic? yes. Still a genuine problem? most definitely. 
3. Dear facebook: No, I do not "like" Skrillex, I am not pregnant, and I don't want to "reconnect" with someone I don't know in real life. Thanks anyways? 
4. I was legitimately hit, knocked over and slightly bruised maimed by a cyclist while crossing the street the other day. I am sorry if anyone finds this offensive but I HATE CYCLISTS. I am not even being rash as this whole cyclists-trying-to-run-the-road thing has been a longstanding irritation of mine. So whatever you do, put down the bikes douchebags! Maybe you can take up rollerblading, rocketpack-ing, or hot air balloon-ing instead and leave my innocent crossing the street self out of the whole situation!

Snapshots

Pictured above: the time I stayed in THE castle (childhood aspirations here people), the time I walked on a crazy suspension bridge, the time me and mum ate stampede lunch on hay bales, the time me and the little sis rocked wedges (hers and mine). 

Due to my unlucky technological disposition (or as my dad puts it, everything electronic I touch breaks) I will be sure to preserve as many photos as possible before my laptop's next inevitable demise. My android is not a happy camper at the moment, which is quite sad :( Somehow Ipod circa 2006 is still kicking around though, you win some, you lose some!

Too Old to Learn New Technology

Anyone remember the Andy Milonakis Show from a few years ago? There's a skit where he wears a grey wig and while struggling to use a spoon to eat soup says that he is "too old to learn new technology". I got pretty into the whole thing as you can tell!

Moral of the story, I just started fiddling around with the trendy instagram on my humble android. Get ready for amateur hour folks, tips and tricks are always welcome!

As you may notice I have a slight timex obsession, I love accessories that are versatile and timeless. Wearing a men's style makes me feel dainty, and I really like the statement a larger watch face makes. I wouldn't mind if the little gold casio wandered into my wardrobe either.

Proud Mama

Check out this models.com feature of my gorgeous bff/roommate! I couldn't be more proud of her keepin' it real in NYC for the past month (aka she's not one of the sleep-in-saran-wrap kinda models lol). I can't wait until she gets back, and I can't wait to share some of that crazy model swag too :p

Minus the fact that I was very afraid that the dog might turn play time into meal time, it was pretty stinkin' cute. 
5. I graduate with my BSc in just 8 short months! Yay for enjoying fourth year :) Thank goodness I don't start lectures until Wednesday though, pretending it is still summer is a game I don't mind playing.
